Accommodation tariffs at the Old Church House Inn represent exceptional value for money.

Choose a single for only £54 a night or a double/twin for only £69 per night. We also include a delicious Devon breakfast with plenty of choice which will set you up for the day.

We do recommend booking as early as possible to get the dates or accommodation required.

Beltane Border Morris Dancing

Thursday 9th June 2005 at 8.00pm

Beltane are a mixed Morris team dancing their interpretation of Border Morris
and are based in Stokeinteignhead, Devon. The name Beltane was adopted being
the old name for May Day - often a traditional time for Morris dancing.

Musically, the team's band comprises a mandolin, mandola, guitar, whistle, fiddle,
drums and until recently a didgeridoo.

Beltant can be recognised by their predominantly black tatter jackets, black faces,
black boots and top hats. The women wear short black skirts and fishnets while the
men wear black jeans. Tatter jackets, black faces and top hats tend to be a distinctive
part of most Border Morris team's costume - fishnets and short skirts are not!

They paint their faces black in common with many other Border Morris teams. There are
many different reasons given for this and the quick answer is that it is a disguise.

All prices are based on a room basis. Breakfast and dinner rates are included for a maximum of two persons.
